Weekly Summary

Mexico held football colossus Brazil to a 0-0 draw behind the inspired goalkeeping of Guillermo Ochoa (after knocking off Cameroon 1-0). That was the News of the Week, and we celebrate it in After Hours. But while the fans were swooning in Brazil, Mexico’s tax administrator was ensuring it gets its cut of their pay checks with a deal to use Microsoft’s Azure cloud computing services to process tax documentation. Energy tech featured this week, as the UK’s Sea Energy won a contract to supply photographic oil and gas asset management technology to PEMEX, and financial close was reached on the first Mexican wind farm project developed to supply to US energy market. Canada’s NanoStruck Technologies agreed to help purify the Puerto Vallarta water table.

As long as Mexico’s team keeps winning in Brazil, business’ll likely be slow, so we suggest you relax and watch the show. Hot Tamales suggests a snack for those couch potato evenings.

Hasta la próxima!
