- Mexican telecoms tycoon Carlos Slim lost his lofty perch as the richest man on earth this week when Forbes ranked the billionaire behind Microsoft founder Bill Gates in the magazine’s 2014 global rich list. Slim trailed Gates for the first time in four years.
- Drugs, outlaws and betrayal: not the return of Breaking Bad, but Mexico’s hottest new soap opera; Camelia la Tejana. Inspired by the song Contrabando y Traición from the legendary band Los Tigres Del Norte, the story begins in the 1970s as the young, innocent (and of course beautiful) Camelia tries to escape the clutches of drug lords.
